Figure Skating

Figure Skating is offered under weSKATE, Kevin Bell Arena’s Learn to Skate program, which includes beginner to advanced lessons in Figure Skating for ages 5 to adult.

Run under the Ice Skate Institute (ISI) skaters work through their own individual skill progression in a group setting. There are four  6-week sessions per season, students can start at the beginning of any session. Drop ins are also welcome. Skills tests are performed at the end of each session with badges awarded for completed levels (currently offering Tot 1 up through Freestyle 2). Coaches take a team of skaters to skating competitions on the peninsula and up in the valley each season. Skaters that choose to attend competitions will take private skating lessons to work on choreography.

Megan Magee is the founder of WeSkate and director. She grew up figure skating in Soldotna, Alaska. She has 20+ years of figure skating experience and 10 years of coaching experience. Megan has credentials through Ice Skating Institute as a professional coaching member and a certified skating director.

WeSkate was a dream of Megan’s for many years! Her goal is to teach kids confidence in themselves and a love for figure skating as they progress in each level!

Mercedes Santana is the co-WeSkate! She started skating at 3 years old and continued to skate on and off for 10 years! She is always excited to work with her students and loves watching them progress and grow in the artistic sport!
