Fundraising Campaign for Condenser Replacement at the Kevin Bell Arena.

Regular maintenance revealed that the current 19-year-old condenser—a critical component in the system that makes the ice and keeps it cool—has significant corrosion, which has led to irreparable leaks in the piping. This project is now at the top of the rink’s maintenance list for summer 2024 when the rink will be closed.  This campaign is to raise $155,000 to replace the current condenser with a stainless-steel unit, which will better withstand our harsh marine environment.

The Kevin Bell Arena programming is welcoming to all, providing opportunities for individuals and to recreate, learn, and compete together—helping build important ties across political, economic, and cultural divides. Our programs support physical and emotional wellness, overall health, and community resilience, all consistently recognized by local health leaders as vital assets. In addition, the facility helps families address ongoing concerns about rising rates of obesity, substance misuse, lingering COVID-19 impacts, and excessive screen time, all in an atmosphere that emphasizes safety, fun, fair play, and sportsmanship.
